OPERATION MANUAL FOR COMPACT PROCESSOR

. Brief introduction

The compact processor is a kind of machine with the functions of punching, pressing fold line and folding etc. Firstly punch two rows of round holes (single-row wheels) along the deckle edge or punch four rows of round holes (double-row wheels), then press the fold line and fold for succeeding print and gathering.

It’s often used on-line with printing press and gathering machine to make blank paper roll into bill paper for computer.

System start-up——press this button to make the machine under running state.

All stop——press this button to switch off the system power supply and press (1) to restart.

Reversely inch——reversely inch the machine

Right inch——right inch the machine

Stop——press this button to stop the machine

Constant speed——when the paper is adjusted normal, press this button to make the machine run at set speed.

Run——press this button to make the machine run at low speed, press (6) after paper feeding is normal.

Show the running state of the host machine and control it to accelerate and decelerate.

Tension control switch

Knob——adjust the tension. See the instruction book for automatic tension adjustment for details.

Counter——show current sheet number.

Counter switch——select the counter to count or not.

. Safety measures

1.     He (she), who coperates the compact processor for the first time, must know this manual well and be familiar with the machine and its surroundings;

2.     Ensure the power supply in line with the requirements, the arrangement of wire safe and reliable and grounded well;

3.     Cut off the power supply after shutdown;

4.     Do not untie your clothes, especially the tie and long hair must be tied up;

5.     Shut down the machine immediately in case of trouble;

6.     Use the tools accurately and take the tool(s) away while the machine is running;

7.     Keep a level head while working;

8.     It’s everyone’s duty to bear safety in mind firmly, especially the operator(s).

. Paper roll disposal

The compact processor is fed with web. Vertical placement of roll will result in wrinkle, which can affect the uniformity of tension while feeding and thus the paper cannot be handled normally and effectively. Generally, the roll shall be kept flat and the deckle edge cannot be damaged when handled.

. Roll loading

 

Loosen the contracting brake on the roll axis and adjust it to proper width——insert the axis into the roll center——lock the contracting brake——put the roll on the paper carrier——regulate the tension to the required.

. Install and adjust the folding knife cylinder

1.     The folding cyclinder is situated above the host machine, fixed with four M10 screws to ensure the master gear driving the cyclinder to be connected at the operating side of the machine and make the two gears malaxate together tightly. The folding knife is fixed with knife holder;

2.     Examine the knife if it shall be repaired or replaced before installation;

3.     Installation procedure as follows

a)      Switch off the power supply;

b)      Make the back of the knife inwards and the inclined plane of the blade towards the right running direction of the folding knife cylinder and put it into the groove of the cyclinder;

c)      Loosen the screws of the knife holder and put the knife into the groove;

d)      Adjust the blade pressure to the right (can crush the paper evenly);

e)      Ensure the blade parallel to the axis of the cyclinder and then tighten the screws of the knife holder equably;

f)        Swithc on the power supply, inch the cyclinder once. Tighten the screws of the knife holder and put a sheet of paper under the cyclinder. Then inch the cyclinder, revolve it for one cycle, and examine if the blade can cut a clear fold line. Repeat the process if necessary.

7) The lateral line is finished with the roll.

a) Examine the blade if it’s sharp before installing the roll;

b) Fix the roll onto the installation axis according to the dimensions and location required;

c) Adjust the pressure of the roll and spring must be installed to regulate the end of the screw to make the roll keep proper pressure. (The pressure of the roll must be moderate, or the cyclinder will be damaged if the pressure is excessive.)

. Adjust the punch and the die

The position of the roller for the punch can be adjusted for the paper in different width.

The set-up procedure for the die as follows:

1) Inch the machine until the locking screws of the punch and the die roller can be touched;

2) Loosen the locking screws with tool, push the rollers at two sides to the proper location and then lock the screws;

3)    The fastening screws must be tightened when the punch and the die are installed, or the roller will be dislocated;

4)    If the roller corresponding to the punch or the die is found dislocated, dismantle the outside casing of the machine, loosen the nuts and fastening bolts of the drive gear of the roller axis of the punch and adjust it to make the punch and the die in right position.

. Paper loading

Follow the safety rules and be extremely careful while loading paper, especially the fingers.

Paper loading procedure as follows:

1) Switch off the power supply;

2)  Tear the paper or fold it into arrow shape and pull through the machine first;

3) Paper feeding: pull through the feeding roll——through the paper under the tension control lever——through the regulating stem——through the punching cyclinder to the pinch roller and ensure to press the paper in enough length;

Requirements on the quality of finished paper:

1.     The holes must be clean and no scrap.

2.     The tension of the paper shall be moderate, the extended length shall be consistent and the paper has no irregularity in length.

3.     The connecting line between holes on the fold line shall be vertical.

4.     The holes at two sides shall be accurately corresponding when the paper is doubled along the fold line.

 

Register Control System For Bill Printer L470-2C/L470-1C

. Operating instruction

The paper feed register system of this printer is driven by a stepping motor. The paper guide is two sets of tank chains (one is before impression and the other after that), which can guide and transmit the computer bill paper with the folding length of 7”-14”. This printer is only applicable to computer bill.

The impression length on the paper by the impression cylinder and the blanket cylinder can be regulated with the adjusting range of 9”-14”. Corresponding impression length shall be selected for different paper.

The impression cylinder and the blanket cylinder gyrate at constant speed set in advance. In order to ensure that the cylinders revolve at the same linear speed as paper feed, the axis encoder at the no-operation side of the blanket cylinder is used to monitor that and automatically impress at right time.

. Set up the printing length of the blanket cylinder

There is a 9”-14” scale at the no-operation side of the blanket cylinder. There are three scale lines at the operation side corresponding to the three fastening screws at the no-operation side. The impression length can be regulated through loosening the three fastening screws in turn and turning the machine with the hand wheel and then tighten the three screws successively. The impression length of the printed article with the printing length less than 9” is set by 9”. The paper feeding is compensated by the electric control system according to the actual paper feeding set.

. Paper feeding length setup

The paper feeding is set up on the operation panel. Press the key to show SE nnn (nnn is the currently set number).

The detailed setup is the printing length x’ multiplied by 12’. For example, if the paper feeding length is set 9, then it’s 9×12=108, it’s 8×12=96 for setup 8” and 11×12=132 for setup 11”.

Press key   or key    to increase or decrease the number nnn. When the setup is finished, press key    to confirm. Make the two-color display lamp green before resultantly pressing every time. When it’s shut down or there is no paper, press    or    to turn the lamp red. Resultantly pressing can be conducted only after the key    is pressed.

After resultantly pressed, the printing dimensions can be micro-adjusted through pressing key    or key   . The paper will move 1/4mm along the arrow direction while the key    or key    is pressed once. However, the graph in the paper is moved in the opposite direction.

. Set the swinging plate for collection and folding to fit different folding dimensions

   If the folding dimensions have changed, it’s necessary to regulate the swinging plate to ensure that the plate can accurately control the collection and folding. When it’s adjusted, the small cover plate on the casing at the operation side can be dismantled. Loosen the synchronous band wheel fastening screws at the end of the blanket cylinder axis, turn the machine forwards and backwards with hand wheel and regulate the action time according to the requirements, then tighten the screws. The right swinging of the plate can guarantee the paper collection smooth.

. Setup of zero of the encoder

       Manually make the machine under resultant press status. Turn the hand wheel counterclockwise slowly until the impression cylinder and the blanket cylinder touch each other and just press the paper, where is the starting point of impression.

      From the starting point of impression, turn the hand wheel clockwise to make the blanket cylinder reverse four pitches, then adjust the encoder and fix it after the red light-emitting diode on the breadboard of the driving system is lighted. Only professional can conduct the adjustment of the encoder. It cannot be adjusted at random.

Do not impact the encoder!!!

. Operating instruction for setup

2. Parameter setup

 

a. Press key    once to show S1- nnn (currently set value)

 Press key    another time to show S2-nnn.

Press key    for the third time to show S3-nnn.

Thereinto, S1 means the printing dimension S(nnn=number in inch ×12); s2 means the sheet number when there is skipping function; S3 means the skipped sheet number when there is skipping function; nnn is the set number.

b. When S1, S2 or S3 is selected, press key    or key    to decrease or increase nnn.

c. When the selected set value has met the requirement, press key  to confirm.

 

d. Repeat a, b and c when reset.

Notice: when skipping isn’t necessary, S2 and S3 must be set 0.

3.     Running speed adjustment

Press    to accelerate

Press    to decelerate and show U-×× speed

4.     Inching paper feeding

When K2 is set “Stop”, press key    or key    to inch paper feeding.

5.     Micro-adjustment of printing

When K2 is set “print”, press key    or key    to micro-adjust the imprint position forwards or backwards.

6.     When the two-color lamp is red, resultant press can be conducted only after confirmation. Press key    to confirm. The two-color lamp is red in the following cases:

a)      setup has been conducted; inch paper feeding; no paper;  start-up

7. Operation of K2

K2 has three shifts: paper feeding——do not press. (After confirmation) the paper feeder can feed paper normally.

Stop——do not press and feed paper. Can inch paper feeding

Print——press and the paper feeder feeds paper (the two-color lamp is green).

8. Operation of K1

K1 has three shifts:count——the display shows the count value in the case of pressing

Stop——the counter stops counting.

zero clearing——the counter clears zero.

turn K1 to “clear zero” and the display shows CLR----.

Press    to show CL0—N, (not clear zero)

Press    to show CL0—Y, (clear zero)

Press    to confirm, select “N” for not zero clearing

1. Starting switch for run: the host machine will run after the starting switch is pressed.

2. Stop switch for the host machine: press this switch to stop the host machine when it’s running.

3. Right inching switch: the host machine will normally turn slowly while this switch is pressed and it will stop after the switch is relieved.

4. Reverse inching switch: the host machine will reversely turn slowly while this switch is pressed and it will stop after the switch is relieved.

 

Operating Manual For Step & Repeat Numbering Machine

. Brief introduction

Step & Repeat Numbering Machine is a kind of auxiliary equipment for computer form printing, which guides 2-6 sheets of computer form paper through the pinholes and number and emboss on them.

It applies frequency control and has the functions of no-paper detection and auto-stop. Besides printing common digital code, it also can print bar code and resin plate.
